Catalog of microfilms of early printed books published mainly within the territory of Silesia, Eastern Prussia and Pommerania in the collections of the National Library

The catalog contains descriptions of early printed books microfilmed within the frames of the Polish-German project "Better Access to Prints from Polish-German Cultural Borderlands in the Collections of Polish Libraries". From the National Library collection of early printed books, counting almost 160,000 items, prints published within the territory of Silesia, Pommerania and Eastern Prussia have been selected and microfilmed. In the case of so-called items block-bound together, though of various origin, all components of the block were microfilmed, no matter where they had been published. That is why the catalog lists also descriptions of prints published in central Poland and in the other European countries.

The database, now counting nearly 12,000 records, is scheduled to include some 17,000 descriptions. The database can be searched via the following indexes: author (autorów), titles (tytułów), words in title (słowa_w_tyt.), place of publication (miejsc_publ.), and chronological (date of print) (chronol.).

The description includes the following data: author (autor), title (tytuł), imprint (adres wyd.), size (format), and microfilm call number (mikrofilm). Small numbers in parenthesis at the end of the entry in indexes mean the number of found documents. If there are more than 20 documents found, the system displays the following message in Polish: (więcej niż20).

Within the frames of the Polish-German project also early printed books from the collections of the University Library in Wrocław, Pommerania Library in Szczecin, and Gdańsk Library of the Polish Academy of Sciences are microfilmed according to similar criteria.
